Usher in the new technological trend
More than 30 years ago, Rance P.L. Lee,
President of TK Holdings(“TK”), was no more than an owner of a copycat factory,
but today TK Holdings has now more than 3,000 workers and is regarded as the
best injection mould exporter in the Chinese mainland. At the turn of the new
millennium, to compete with its rivals, TK gave up the low-technology mould
production which it had been reliant on for a long time, and shifted to the
production model producing low profits, but featuring a high technological
level, thus laying a sound foundation for its high-tech production status of
today.
TK’s current mould and injection mould products
cover multiple sectors, such as mobile phones and wearable devices, commercial
communication equipment, medical and personal care, home appliance and digital
equipment. Separately, it has set up the business unit for large mould making,
mainly targeting fascia moulds. Rance P.L. Lee said that the manufacturing
industry required the increasingly high level of technologies. He also
conducted synchronic research and development with the clients so as to solve
relevant technological problems; however, he thought it was a good thing: “If
we create a product only after long-time discussions and cooperation, it means
that it will be hard for other rivals to replace our product.”
Rance P.L. Lee further pointed out that with the
development of science and technology, including iceboxes and automobiles, the
application of plastic parts will become wider and wider. In the future, TK Holdings
will positively explore the intelligent home furnishing business so as to usher
in the new technological trend.
The competitiveness of the automatic production
lines increases
The increase of
salary level in the Chinese mainland has posed a challenge to the cost for the
enterprise. Mr. Weng Jianxiang, CEO of TK Holdings, pointed out that the
Company gradually introduced the automatic production lines of the Industrial
4.0 Concept in 2015. He believed that TK Holdings can still increase production
capacity without increase of workers.
TK Holdings is one of the enterprises in the Chinese mainland to introduce the Industrial 4.0 Concept at the earliest date. Weng Jianxiang said that TK Holdings’ intelligent flexible production lines employ robots and the most advanced programs and designs. In the production, a couple of adjustable machine tools can be linked. Then, combined with the automatic conveyance devices, different production models can be linked with each other by means of computer. Consequently, it not only controls more strictly the production quality, but adjusts rapidly as per the orders from different clients so that the production efficiency can be enhanced.
TK Holdings announced earlier that it would invest 150 million yuan to purchase more than 50 mechanical arms this year, with an aim to enhance its automatic production capacity. Mr. Weng Jianxiang also disclosed that TK Holdings had formulated a three-year production automation plan. It is expected to become the benchmark enterprise in the Chinese mainland in terms of automation and intelligence for the purpose of increasing its competitiveness.
